Graduation and birthday weekend!

Can't believe my baby girl is turning 6. We just celebrated her birthday this past weekend, but her actual birthday is May 24th. As I was looking at the pictures from her party, it took my breath away as I looked at this baby of mine. No longer is she a baby who needs me, she is this little girl with a beautiful heart. This past weekend we also watched my baby "graduate" from kindergarten. It is all happening so fast, and as much as I am enjoying seeing what this little girl is turning into, I want to stop time and just hold my little baby.
We celebrated with a Rainbow Party!! I absolutely loved the rainbow cake idea, and was so glad I was able to pull it off!!
Love the inside!!
Friday we celebrated kindergarten graduation.
Each kindergartener had to give a speech in front of everyone! Olivia did great! Her speech was "My name is Olivia Baitinger. My favorite part about kindergarten was learning to draw a star. I would like to thank Mrs. Cooper for a great year." Then the entire class sang a song.
Best friends!!
The best kindergarten teacher! We were so blessed to have her this year.
Next post I will post Mrs. Cooper's thank you gift! I just loved how it turned out!

Going for a walk

Now that it is nice out, Simon and I have been going on short walks. These really are short walks...down the street, and walk 1/2 a block, then turn around and go back. This has been our ritual for a little while now. Usually after lunch. I have tried to get him to go on longer walks, but the boy doesn't like to exert himself.

And just want to apologize for my neighbors and the amount of weeds we are spreading throughout the neighborhood.

Sewing Endevors

This past year I have really taken off on sewing. I have sewn for quite a few years, but I have tended to get excited about finishing a project and would cut corners...and wonder why my projects never seemed to turn out the way I'd hoped them to. Enter Dana from MADE. Her posts and tutorials have taught me that I CAN sew, especially if I just take my time. :) Oh, and patterns aren't so bad either. I have been into sewing bags lately...and toying with making them to sell. I made this one last night for one of Olivia's classmates.

Here is the inside. I really enjoy mixing up fabrics!

I made myself a purse too...you know, to try out my own product! :) I wanted something fun for spring/summer, and I'm a sucker for anything green.

Here is a peek inside:

I even made these keychains for my MOPS ladies at my table. I didn't know how handy they would be until I used one myself!

I love being able to create!

Spring Break

We couldn't have asked for a better spring break. The weather was just gorgeous, and it was fun to have my Olivia all day with me again. It was hard to send her back to school this morning. :(
We had lots of time spent with friends at the park, a playdate with Olivia's best friend, and Friday we went to the zoo!!

The weather was just gorgeous,I honestly couldn't have asked for a better week! Now, hurry up summer!!!

Ready for Spring

We are ready for the warmer temps out here. Of course, there is nothing to complain about this winter, it has been such an unseasonably warm winter. The other day it was fairly nice out, so we decided to take advantage of it.

I am trying to get this little girl to not be afraid of her bike. Hopefully we can log in lots of riding time this summer.

But, alas, she gave up and got the good ole safe scooter out. :)

This little guy loves his scooter too, and won't touch a bike.

We are definitely ready to get out and play!!

Valentine's Day

This was such a crazy day. For starters, we all have been sick. Gregg took off today to go to the doctors, to come back with bronchitis. Hopefully with an antibiotic, he will be able to kick it pretty soon. We also had someone coming out to do some repair work on 2 of our interior walls, the walls that the company had torn up while putting up new wood on the exterior of our house. Then we find out that we need an additional 1200 work done on the exterior of our house. Happy Valentine's Day to us.
The night before, I was busy putting the finishing touches on Olivia's outfit for Valentine's Day! I had found this shirt at target on clearance...so I just cut up some old knit fabrics that I had on hand to make the hearts...the buttons came off an old pair of p.j.s. I like how it turned out.

I was glad that Gregg took off because that meant I could help out at Olivia's party. It is so fun to see these kindergarteners excited!
Smile!

Making candy necklaces.

The green table.

So to help celebrate our Valentine's day, I had picked up to Papa Murphy's heart pizzas. That is all the kiddos have talked about since picking them up. From dealing with Simon and the stress about the house, the new t.v. wasn't working, and at&t not only messed up our bill, but was messing up our ports. I just put the pizza in the oven...only to find out about 10 minutes later, it was on fire. Like panic, the pizza is on fire...go get the extinguisher. Total mom fail. Good thing we were not the only ones eating at McDonald's for valentines. By the time we were done with Olivia's gymnastics class, I was ready for the day to be over with. Now, how do I clean an oven?

Let's try this again

Well, as the new year came around, I had wanted to start up the blog again...see how well I've been doing? I'd love to be able to document what I've been working on, any new items for Sassy B Creations, and whatever the kids are up to...let's see how well I do.
