How are we in November?

It has been quite a while since updating this little ole' blog of mine. In fact, I have neglected it. Trying to find time to be on the computer, has been, well...hard. Especially since I have more fun reading blogs. Guess I will go through the pics and see what we have been up to.... Missing 2 teeth...
Really, I'm not sure of this growing up thing. Had a great visit with grandma and went to the St. Louis zoo:
Had a birthday...
Really, I'm not so sure of this growing up thing. Another holiday has passed, fun times this halloween..
I think I will try to update a little more often..:)

More Branson

Somehow, blogger and I weren't getting along to well the other day. So, I'm going to try it again. We had a blast at Branson....we devoted 2 days to Silver Dollar City, and the kids did great. Even in 103 degree heat. It was kids fest, so they had a lot of great shows. Luma, the circus, and a great bubble show. It helped with the heat.
The kids loved the swings, the "little" rollercoaster, the teacups, and everything their size. Surprisingly, Simon LOVED the log ride. Fire in the hole, not so much. But that one isn't my cup of tea either.
It was a lot of fun. I'm so glad we were able to make those memories. Next year, I'm shooting for a beach somewhere. Guess I better start selling some hats. :)

Branson

This past week we were able to go down to Branson for a week. It was a lot of fun to just hang out....not having daddy working all the time, me cleaning up after everyone...it was nice. This year, we dedicated 2 days for Silver Dollar City. Unfortunately, I realized about half way down there, that I had forgotten my camera. Gregg didn't like my plan to get a new (better) camera while we were down there. :) So, good thing for camera phones!! Of course we had to try Lamberts.
We checked out the Kirby VanBurch show.
Of course while we were there, we were schooled by Olivia, that Unicorns do exist...as there was a magic trick with one. Of course, as we were leaving, we were behind a horse trailer that hauled a white horse...not sure if she put two and two together. But it was a good show, and they really enjoyed themselves! More to come!

Birthday Girl

The past two weekends we have celebrated Olivia's 6th birthday. Boy, it sure feels weird writing that! It is so surreal she just turned 6 and will be starting 1st grade this fall! It just doesn't seem right. Anyways, she decided on a rainbow birthday. I might have shown her some rainbow cakes to persuade a rainbow party. :) Pinterest is so addicting.
It was fun to cut open and see!
Lots of art supplies for this little girl! And lego friends. Have you seen those? Legos for girls. They really are cute!! This past weekend was a small party at the park. The one day in May it rains? The Friday morning we were having her party....at the park. It wasn't rain...it was 5 inches of rain in about 2 hours. They closed 291 because it was flooded. Our backyard was a swamp. We were cleaning like mad men figuring we were going to have it at the house. For sure, but the clouds parted and the sun did it's thing and dried up most of the rain. We were able to have it at the park!! We decorated t-shirts.....it was really windy even though it was sunny. I wouldn't recommend t-shirt decorating in the wind.
Rainbow Jello! Another pinterest idea! I would like to thank my very patient hubby for this project....done twice.
It was a fun party, but small. She only had wanted to invite a handful of kiddos, which I was glad about! This was her very first "friends" party. Her very best friend from school is in the blue. They are so cute together!! I'm glad that everything worked out. Tomorrow, I'm looking forward to going to church, then off to visit family for Memorial day. I'm so glad that summer is here!!

New bag

New bag...not for me, but Olivia's teacher. As I have said earlier, we have been blessed with a teacher that kept up such an awesome classroom, but also had a sense of humor with the kiddos. One night while we were eating supper, Simon was fussing over something, and Olivia told him to "build a bridge and get over it." After Gregg and I both spit our food out from laughing, we had asked her where she heard that. It is something that Mrs. Cooper had talked to them about....not saying it to be mean, but to teach them that they can't dwell on everything...it is pretty funny. Anyways, onto the bag. I was really proud of this one, and I am in the works of expanding my store, because I am in love with sewing bags!! Watch out!! :)
Don't you just love the chevron?
And a matching pouch to keep your bag organized.

Graduation and birthday weekend!

Can't believe my baby girl is turning 6. We just celebrated her birthday this past weekend, but her actual birthday is May 24th. As I was looking at the pictures from her party, it took my breath away as I looked at this baby of mine. No longer is she a baby who needs me, she is this little girl with a beautiful heart. This past weekend we also watched my baby "graduate" from kindergarten. It is all happening so fast, and as much as I am enjoying seeing what this little girl is turning into, I want to stop time and just hold my little baby.
We celebrated with a Rainbow Party!! I absolutely loved the rainbow cake idea, and was so glad I was able to pull it off!!
Love the inside!!
Friday we celebrated kindergarten graduation.
Each kindergartener had to give a speech in front of everyone! Olivia did great! Her speech was "My name is Olivia Baitinger. My favorite part about kindergarten was learning to draw a star. I would like to thank Mrs. Cooper for a great year." Then the entire class sang a song.
Best friends!!
The best kindergarten teacher! We were so blessed to have her this year.
Next post I will post Mrs. Cooper's thank you gift! I just loved how it turned out!

Going for a walk

Now that it is nice out, Simon and I have been going on short walks. These really are short walks...down the street, and walk 1/2 a block, then turn around and go back. This has been our ritual for a little while now. Usually after lunch. I have tried to get him to go on longer walks, but the boy doesn't like to exert himself.

And just want to apologize for my neighbors and the amount of weeds we are spreading throughout the neighborhood.

Sewing Endevors

This past year I have really taken off on sewing. I have sewn for quite a few years, but I have tended to get excited about finishing a project and would cut corners...and wonder why my projects never seemed to turn out the way I'd hoped them to. Enter Dana from MADE. Her posts and tutorials have taught me that I CAN sew, especially if I just take my time. :) Oh, and patterns aren't so bad either. I have been into sewing bags lately...and toying with making them to sell. I made this one last night for one of Olivia's classmates.

Here is the inside. I really enjoy mixing up fabrics!

I made myself a purse too...you know, to try out my own product! :) I wanted something fun for spring/summer, and I'm a sucker for anything green.

Here is a peek inside:

I even made these keychains for my MOPS ladies at my table. I didn't know how handy they would be until I used one myself!

I love being able to create!

Spring Break

We couldn't have asked for a better spring break. The weather was just gorgeous, and it was fun to have my Olivia all day with me again. It was hard to send her back to school this morning. :(
We had lots of time spent with friends at the park, a playdate with Olivia's best friend, and Friday we went to the zoo!!

The weather was just gorgeous,I honestly couldn't have asked for a better week! Now, hurry up summer!!!

Ready for Spring

We are ready for the warmer temps out here. Of course, there is nothing to complain about this winter, it has been such an unseasonably warm winter. The other day it was fairly nice out, so we decided to take advantage of it.

I am trying to get this little girl to not be afraid of her bike. Hopefully we can log in lots of riding time this summer.

But, alas, she gave up and got the good ole safe scooter out. :)

This little guy loves his scooter too, and won't touch a bike.

We are definitely ready to get out and play!!
